Australian Team Arrives By Telegraph—Press Association AUCKLAND, August 17. •‘This is tho strongest Australian hockey team which has yet visited New Zealand,” said the manager of tho touring Australian team, Mr W. Rothwell, when tho party arrived by tho Wanganella. New South Wales is represented by 12 players, while there is ono player from each of tho other States. A luncheon, at which members of the Wellington team were present, was given the visitors who were welcomed on behalf of the citizens of Auckland by tho deputy-Mayor, Mr Entrican. Other speakers were: Tho president of tho Auckland Hockey Association, Mr Norton, the manager of tho Wellington team, Mr McAlister, Mr IL Down and A. Lee, captain of tho visiting sido.

Tho team left by train for Hamilton where tho first match of the tour against Waikato will bo played.
