GINGERBREAD. Ingredients: } cup butter, J cup brown sugar, J cup golden syrup, i teaspoonful cinnamon, 1 tablespoonful ground ginger, 2 eggs, n cups flour, 1 teaspoonful bicarbonate of soda. 2 tablespoonfuls milk, 1 teaspoonful vinegar, pinch of salt. Method: Cream the butter and sugar, add golden-syrup slightly warmed, and then the two eggs well beaten, Add the flour, salt, ginger and cinnamon, then the soda dissolved in warm milk and lastly the vinegar. Bake in a moderate oven for 30 or 40 minutes.
