ORATORY CONTEST

Plunket Medal Speeches WELLINGTON, June 24. Out of eight speakers, R. J. Larkin was placed first in the annual Plunket contest for oratory at the Town Hall on Saturday night. A. H. Scotney wee placed second and L. R. Scents and I. D. Campbell third equal. The contest was inaugurated in 1904 and is held under the auspices of the Victoria University College Debating Society. It consists of eight prepared speeches on some , notable man or woman in history.
