THE CODOCK’S FLIGHT

No Risks to be Take* By Telegraph--Pro** Association. AUCKLAND, May S. Surprise was expressed by Su Charles Kingsford-Smith that reports had been circulated stating that the Codock plane was to learn New South Wales to-day for a flight to New Zealand. “It is no use joy-riding acroa* the Tasman in winter,” he said. “The machine has been thoroughly tested and found satisfactory in every way, but it will not bo brought to New Zealand until Dominion Airway* are ready to take it into service. We cannot afford to send the machine across on ‘spec’. The last tests were made only two days before I left.” Sir Charles expressed the opinion that the time was fast approaching when there would he a trans-Tasmsn passenger and mail air service, but it would be necessary to organise all New Zealand services first, so that mail* could be given rapid distribution when they arrived in the Dominion.
