Souk oatmeal in the milk or water for about half an hour; strain, pour into a pan, and stir until it thickens; add salt This can also be sweetened with the sugar; the butter added, if for a cold, and a grating of hutmeg. Simmer in any case very slowly 10 minutes. Very nutritious, and will help to relieve a cold if taken before retiring, as it causes perspiration. Thistle Oats Milk Pudding: Half teacupful Thistle Oats, i teacupful sugar, 2 teaspoonfuls spice, 2 eggs, 1 pint milk, .1 dessertspoonful butter. Place the 'Thistle Oats in well-greased pie-dish with sugar and spice well mixed, pour in half a pint of milk, and stand for 10 minutes; beat yolks of eggs and remainder of milk together, and pour into pie-dish; add butter. Cook in moderate oven 20 to 30 minutes. Take whites of eggs and beat well, add 1 tablespoonful castor sugar, spread over pudding, and return to oven until the meringue is a light brown. Oatienuts Bread: Two cups flour, 1 cup golden syrup, 2 teaspoons cream of tartar, 1 cup Oatienuts, 2 teaspoons soda, 1 teaspoon salt, about J cup of milk. Scald the milk and pour over Oatienuts. When cool, add golden syrup, salt, soda, cream of tartar, and flour. If too stiff, add a little more milk. Pour in a greased tin and bake 1 hoqr. Pixies: Two cups Thislte Oats, 1 cup flour. 1 teaspoon soda, i cup sugar, 4 cup melted butter, 2 tablespoons boiling water, 5 cupful golden syrup. Sift flour and soda, add Thistle Oats and sugar, and mix well. Warm golden syrup, add to it melted butter and boiling water. Pour into dry ingredients, and mix well. Drop on greased, tins. 1 teaspoon for each, and bake in a moderate oven ■
