HASTINGS CROQUET CLUB
OFFICIAL CLOSING DAY. On Friday last the Hastings Croquet Club held their official closing day, and it was most enjoyable. Visitors were present from Napier, Havelock North, and the local clubs. The afternoon was spent in games and competitions. During the interval for afternoon tea. Mrs. Bailey, president of the H.B. Croquet Association, the pennant won by the club. The B grade pennant, won by the Kia Toa Club, was also presented. A small pennant accompanying the larger one becomes the property of the winning club. Mrs. Lowe, president of the chib, also presented the trophies won in chib matches played on the greens during the season. The championshin of the club was won by Mrs. C. Watkins; runner-up. Miss Carrington. Bridgman Gold Buttons, A grade. Miss Carrington: B I "lade. Mrs. Bennett. Pitcaithly Gold Medals, combined doubles, Miss Carrin don and Mrs. Petersen. At the conclusion the president thanked all for their attendance and presented the prizes for the various r()i”uotit <>ns: Putting, Mrs. Tiffin; trail. Airs. Yates; skittles.
