Eastbourne tennis tourney results are as under:— Men’s Singles, third round: McGrath defeated Hare, 6—4, 6—4, 6—3; Perry defeated Malfroy, 6—4, 2—6. 6 —4, 6—o; Crawford defeated Fujikura, 6—l, 6— l, 9—7; Miki defeated Turnbull, 10—8, 6—o, 6—3; Quist defeated Gardardower, 2—6, 6—2, 5—7, 6— 3, 6—l; Boussus defeated Hopman, 7— 5, 6—3, 6—2. Fourth round: Preen defeated Avory, 6—4, 6—3, 6—2. Women’s Singles, third round: Miss Heeley defeated Miss Hartigan, 6—2, 6—3. Women’s Doubles, first round: Misses Molesworth and Hartigan do fcated Misses McOstrich and Whitmarsh, B—6,8 —6, 6—l. Third round: Misses Hopman and Hardwick defeated Mrs Lucas and Miss Harry, 7 —5, 4—6, 6—4. Men’s Doubles, second round: Crawford and McGrath defeated Stedman and Peters, 6—3, 6—l, 4—6, 6—3: Fujikura 'and Hopman defeated Graves and Morris, B—6, 6—3, 6—l; Quist and Turnbull defeated Wheatcroft and Wilde, 6—3, 6—4, 6—3. McGrath was supreme throughout with perfectly timed double-handed backhand shots. Stedman’s lobbing enabled him and his partner io take the set from Crawford and McGrath. Miss Hartigan failed to reproduce her Australian form. In the quarter finals of the singles Perry meets Miki. McGrath meets Kirby, Quist meets Prenn, and Crawford meets Boussus.
