Solomon and Princess Star led down the back, Hybiscus came up at the straight entrance just clear of Illuminate, which finished best to beat Princess Star by a short nock. Solonion was a neck back. Ruri went ahead down the buck and was joined across the top by Chopin. Prince Colossus came again and finished a neck behind Ruri, with Chopin a length mid a half away. Alloy was next, Time, 2.10.

Tres Sec, always handy, came with a strong run from llie straight entrance and won by two lengths, with a head between the next two. Lady Ronald was fourth. Time, 1.28 1-5. About 70 yards from home Prince f'eno stumbled, throwing his jockey. Tremain and falling on him. The rider escaped with a severe shaking.
