LOYAL ABBOTSFORD LODGE. • From Our Own Correspondent. WAIPAWA, April 17. A special summoned meeting of the Loyal Abbotsford Lodge was held in the lodge-room, Waipawa, last evening. There was a good attendance of both officers and members. Visitors included District Grand Master Bro. Nicholson and officers of the Loyal Napier Lodge. Sick pay and accounts totalling £73 3/10 were passed for payment. After discussion it was decided to adhere to Friday night for meetings in preference to Mondays. D.G.M. Bro. Nicholson took the opportunity of congratulating Loyal Abbotsford Lodge and presenting N.G. Bro. T. Dunn with the Allward Ritual Shield won by the lodge during tlie recent competitions between the various lodges. After the meeting had concluded, a cup of tea was enjoyed by all. GENERAL. The annual meeting of the Waipawa Ladies’ Golf Club was held last evening. The report showed a successful year, thanks to all who assisted, special mention being made of Mrs. L. H. McHardy and Mr J. Pratley. Officers for the ensuing year were elected as follow:—Patroness, Mrs L. n. McHardy; president, Mrs J. Clark; vice-president, Mrs 11. Limbrick, senr.; captain, Mrs S. W. Strang; vice-cap-tain, Mrs C. E. T. Woods; secretary, Miss D’Emden; committee, Mesdames D. H. Edwards, E. W. Chisholm, H. Dwight and Misses Witherow and Beck. The opening day was fixed for Satur day next, April 21. Owing to lack of rain, tho links are in a very parched condition, so play will bo commenced on temporarv greens. Mr and Mrs Harris and family, of Morrisville, are visiting Mrs Harris’ parents, Mr and Mrs Lee, Waipawa. Mis s M Little, of Hastings, is relieving at the Waipawa District High School, in the absence of Mr Hill, headmaster, who is at present in hospital. Mrs Sinclair, an old identity of Waipawa, left this morning for Wellington, to reside with her daughter.
