BOLIVIAN REVOLT
Hundreds of Casualties RESENTFUL POPULACE (Received 9, 2.30 p.m) LIMA (Peru), April 8. Travellers arriving from Bolivia report that a serious revolution has been in progress for several days, with casualties running into hundreds. The populace, according to reports, is resentful against the Government’s disastrous prosecution of war with Paraguay in Gran Chaco, which has now continued for two years, with Bolivian forces rapidly losing ground and suffering heavy casualties. Loyal forces bombed the rebels, killing and wounding many. It is thought the Government has not fallen yet, but the situation apparently is serious.
