Association, formed an excellent assisting men's committee, and to the latter goes credit tor the uecoratiou of the hall.

Oxford blue anu white, the school colours were effectively used in streamer window blinds and petal shades were in the same colours, giving a soft glow to the ballroom. Below stage a lattice and streamer decoration was well carried out.

The stage was furnished as a lounge with comfortable divan chairs for staff and special visitors. It was decorated with tall palms, the ledge having a border of pot ferns. The proscenium arch had the words “Napier High School Jubilee” in the school colours, anu ui each side were the framed crests of the schools. Jubilee banners also decorated the walls.

Miss Betty Cooper’s orchestra was accommodated at the right side of the stage. Supper extras were played by Miss Winifred McCarthy, and dance selections were appreciated from the burlesque jazz band formed by some of the Ex-Girls' Association.

The school dining hall presented a pretty picture indeed, and to the ladies’ committee who worked hard the whole day, finally doing supper service, one must pay a glowing tribute. They certainly did more than their bit. Practically the whole of the supper foodstuffs were given and the dishes made by the committee at the school. Lt was purely a savoury supper excellently prepared and set out. The floral decorations on the large tables consisted of a squat bowl of either bronze Easter daisies, French marigolds or Iceland poppies, and these blended beautifully with the artistic and colorful garnishes to some of the dishes. Sandwiches, rolls, aspic jellies, olives and gherkins, cheese straws, etc., were the main dishes, but exquisite tomato roses, radish flowers and carrot wheels decorated the aspic jellies, the whole arrangement forming one of the best suppers seen at a function of this kind, and the artistic arrangement and decoration merited the highest praise. Favours were distributed as dancers entered for supper. In the ballroom many little reunions were noted, and a happy atmosphere prevailed. The dance will be long remembered and the presence of the principals, staff and interesting visitors was appreciated. The only debutante present was Miss Irene Lovell-Smith, of Hastings.
