Awapuni Final Gallops CALYDON GOES WELL (By Telegraph—Press Associalfou.) PALMERSTON N., March 20. Conditions were almost perfect lor the final gallop* at A«upum this morning. Both the couise proper, <4l which the flag* were on the uulsile, and the plough were in use. Ou the course proper Palm ran live furlong* comfortably in l.fej. Golden Chant travelled well within herself, getting to the end of hall a mile m 52 4-ssecs. Bodylme and Balbus raced on terms for the first three furlongs, Body line then drawing clear 111 the straight to break 1.6 for five. Higligladei had a head advantage over Aiguille at Ibe end of five furlongs in 1.6 3-5, the first three in 39secs. Burnish and Rust were on terms throughout their halfmile gallop m 52 1-Sseo*. There was little between Good Hunting and Ebeum at the close of half a mile in 54secs After breakfast an Acre—Moutoa Ivanova gelding made the pace for Dombey, and the latter was kept busy to keep on terms with them. The first two furlongs took 27 2-5, and the five 1.6. Variant was kept back to Catalogue in the early stages of a fivefurlongs gallop, but both were going strongly at the finish to run the distance in 1.5. Silver Ring ran over a mile, the first furlong taking 15secs.. two 27 4-s*ecs., three 41secs., five 1.7 2-5. and the full distance 1.47 2-5. The last three furlongs were covered in IGsec*. Sweet Music, who wa* a shade sore, partnered Bold Jim over five- furlongs to run 1.7. On tlio plough le Hangituuiau. Sir Romeo, Boudoir and Easterly were associated in a live-furlongs gallop. The first-named jumped away the smartest and led Sir Ito moo at the finish, wnh the other pair three length* uwuy. Boudoii had much the worse of th* weights. Te Rangitumau ran five lurlongs 111 1.3 4-s—quite a satisfactory effort.
