N.Z. RESERVE BANK
Appointment of Staff Many hundreds of applications for appointment to the staff of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand have been received by the Government. The bank is to open on August 1 and the choice of staff is shortly to be made by the newly-arrived bank governor, Mr Leslie Lefeaux. Offices have also to be chosen. The most important rMe to be filled is that of deputy-governor. The Gov eminent has already given consideration to this appointment, which is expected to be finalised very soon. The appointment of the directorate of tl . bank is expected to be completed by the end of April. Since his arrival in Wellington on Saturday, Mr. Lefeaux lias conferred with the Minister of Finance (the lit. Hon. J. G. Coates) and Treasury, and he has also bad the opportunity of meeting a number of leading business
