HACK CUP TO WALTON PARK, COPYIST WINS SPRINT. WELLINGTON, March 18. The Wellington Racing Club’s autumn meeting concluded at Trentham in fine warm weather. The track was firm and fast and the attendance large. The tote for the day was £33,743 compared with £34,671 10/-. The total for the meeting was £58,054 10/-, compared with £63,665 10/-, a decrease of £5,611. Results:— CHAMPION HACK CUP Of £450; 1 mile 3 furlongs. 5/6 WALTON PARK (Andersou;, 8.5 .. .. 1 12/15 Blue Boy (B. H. Morris) 8.0 (car. 8.2) .. .. .. .. .. 2 15/14 Pango (Wilson), 8.2 .. .. 3 Also ran: 1/3 Spiral 9.3, 2/1 Lone Raider 8.11, 3/2 Hazoor 8.5, 14/13 Might, 8.2, 4/4 Round Table 8.2, 8/9 Silver Sight 8.2, 11/12 Werohiu 8.1, 6/5 Palm Queen 7.13, 10/8 Importance 7.11 (car. 8.0), 7/7 Taitoru 7.11, 16/17 Cleaner 7.5 (car. 7.7})), 9/10 Senior 7.3 (car. 7.5 J), 13/11 Purse 7.0, 17/16 Sibella 7.0. Won by a head, third half a head back. Hazoor was fourth. Time, 2.19 1-4. Purse and Taitoru made the pace to the straight, well placed horses being Lone Raider, Blue Boy, Pango, Importance and Walton Park. There was a thrilling race home, Walton Park staying best. BELMONT HANDICAP Of £200; 6 furlongs 1/1 ROYAL AMPHORA (Ellis), 9.2 J 3/3 Cherry Queen (A. Eastwood), 7.10 .. 2 4/4 Prostration, 8.2 ...... 3 Also ran: 5/5 April Foo] 8,2, 2/2 Dombey, 7.10 (car. 7.13}), 7/6 Bay Area 7.0, 6/7 Ingenuity 7.0 (car. 7.3), 9/9 Snowball 7.0, 8/8 Whetuma 7.0 (car 7.7). Won by half a head, third a length back. Whetuma was fourth. Time,l.lo. Royal Amphora and Cherry Queen were always in front and fought out a keen finish, Royal Amphora doing a little better over the final stages. SUBURBAN HANDICAP Of £300; 6 furlongs. 2/2 COPYIST (A. H. Also ran: 5/5 Slippery 7.1.1, 1/1 Golden Chant 7.11, 3/3 Kerbside 9.9, 7/7 Good Hunting 7.0. Won by three lengths. Kerbside was fourth. Time, 1.10. Copyist was prominent always and drew away u the straight to win easily. HUTT HANDICAP Of £200; 1 mile. 4/3 RANSLAGH (Ellis), 8.5 .. 1 1/1 Saltspray (Humphries), 8.8 .. 2 3/2 Miladi, 8.8 ..3 Also ran: 5/6 Emotion 9.1, 2/4 Pomp 8.10, 6/5 Sangine Kitg 8.0, 8/8 Red Sun 8.0, 7..7 Cape Fair 8.0 (car.' 8.2}), 9/9 Gold Ruler 8.0. Won by a length, third a head back. Pomp was fourth. Time, 1.38 1-4. Ranelagh was slow away but, moving up handy when entering the straight, had the race won over the last furlong. The finish for the minor places was very close. ’
