DEATH DUE TO SLIMMING

Took Over-dose of Drug LONDON, March 17. At the inquest on Miss “Biddy” Philcox at Paddington the coroner returned a verdict that death was due to nitrophenol poisoning as the result of misadventure. He gave a serious warning against the use of drugs for slimming The evidence showed that Miss I’hilcox was under medical advice. She took nitro-phenol capsules and, finding that they were not having the desired effect, took an increased doso without wmsnlting the doctor.
