OBITUARY
Mr. William Rowney The death occurred at the Napier Hospital this morning of Mr William Rowney, who for many years was a fruitgrower of Hastings. The late Mr Rowney, who was 81 years of age, waa born in Ireland and came to New Zealand some 46 years ago About tea years after his arrival in the Dominion he took on fruit-growing in Hastings, and in this he carried on until about four years ago when he retired. He was of a retiring disposition, but his sterling character earned for him many friendships and his death will occasion sorrow to his many friends. There are left the widow, who is at present an inmate of the Napier Hospital, one daughter Mr? Fishendeu. of Wellington. and Messrs William John (Napier) and Hugh James Rowney (Johnsonville) The funeral will leave the residence. 404 French street. Hastings. °n Tuesday at 2 30 o'clock for the Hastings cemetery.
