THE TOWN AND DISTRICT. SUCCESSFUL JUVENILE REVUE. From Our Own Correspondent A bright and entertaining revue was presented at St. Andrew’s Hall, Waipukurau last evening, by the Juvenile Gloom Chasers, in aid of the Waipukurau Sunday School. The entertainment was produced by Miss G. Major, assisted by Mrs Major and the Misses Jones, and was a great success, refecting credit on all concerned. The revue was first staged on Thursday evening. The following was the programme presented last night:— “Under the Apple Tree Bough,’’ opening chorus, Gloom Chasers; “Little Old Garden,” song, Doris Thomson; “Jim’s Poetry,” sketch, Dqn and Fred Hubbard; “Lullaby,’’ chorus, The Girls; “The Greedy Boy,” recitation, Jim Thomson; “I Don’t Want to Play in Four Yard,” duet, Dulcie Moffatt and Gwitha Pendray; “An Anxious Enquiry,’’ sketch, Doris and Norma Thomson; “Jingle Bells,” chorus, Gloom Chasers; “Teasing Ned,” sketch, Fred Gibson and Russell Wood; “The House That Jack Built,” recitation, Dulcie Moffatt; “Ten Little Nigger Boys,” chorus, Ten Niggers; “Where Are You Going to My Pretty Maid?” vocal duet, Norma Thomson and Fred Hubbard; “Let’s Grow Old Together,” musical sketch, Dorothy Gibson, Dulcie Moffatt. Fred Gibson and Jim Thomson; “Hypnotism, by Madam Pasha,” sketch, Dwina Pendray and Russell Wood; “Susie’s Lesson,” sketch, Dorothy and Doug. Gibson; “Camptown Races,” song, Russell Wood; “Japanese Land,” descriptive chorus, The Girls; “Bill Smith,” recitation, Russell Wood; “Lilac Tree,” descriptive solo, Doris Thomson; Dance, Welsh National, Dwina and Gwitha Pendray, Molly and Dorothy Gibson; “Laugh and Drive Dull Care Away,” humorous chorus, The Boys; “Little Gossips,” sketch, Dulcie Moffatt, Dwina and Gwitha Pendray, Molly and Dorothy Gibson; “Coach and Four,” concerted number, Gloom Chasers; “The Sisters,” sketch, Molly Gibson and Dwina Pendray, “Dream Man,” finale, Gloom Chasers. Arrangements are proceeding steadily for the Waipukurau Machme-Gun Troop’s (W.E.C.M.R.) dance, which will be held in the Masonic Hall on Wednesday next, March 21. The committee is going to considerable, trouble and expense, and is sparing no effort to make the evening an outstanding success. Mr Ken Hick’s melodians have been engaged, and so with good music, a good supper an’ a first-class floor, the ultimate success of the function seems assured. Consumers in the Central Hawke s Bay Electric Power Board’s area are notified that the power will bo cut off to-morrow from 1.30 p.m. to - p.m., to enable necessary repairs to be carried out.
