Hassall, in Hastings Mrs. Goodall, of Bulls, is the guest of Miss Nancy Bell, Havelock North. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Mackenzie are the guests of Dr, Reeve, Havelock North, for the polo tournament and tonight’s polo ball. Miss Phyllis Stead, of Melbourne, is the guest of Mrs. F. Donnelly, Raupare, Twyford. • « • Mr. and Mrs. Forbes McHardy are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. Chambers at Morea for polo week. Mr. and Mrs. Thornley Sherratt, of Gisborne, are staying at Raupare with Mr. and Mrs, F. Donnelly. Mrs. Gambrill, of Palmerston North, who has been staying with Mrs. Pitcaithly in Hastings for the croquet tournament, left yesterday for Wanganui, where she will enter for the N.Z. Gold Medal Competitions. Mrs. Gambrill won the championship singles at the recent Hawke’s Bay Croquet Association tournament and, with Mrs. Pitcaitbly, was a runner-up for the championship doubles. * * • News has been received that the marriage took place in London on March 7th of Dr, E. K. McLean, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Duncan McLean, of Waipawa, to Miss A. W. Brewer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. 11. D. W. Brewer, of Dunedin. • • • Miss Joyce Lee. of Hastings, left this morning on a holiday visit to Wellington. ... The/Misses R. Symons and H. Campbell, of Hastings, left this morning for Palmerston North, where they will take part in an athletic sports meeting in that district. • • • Mrs A. Andrews, late of Napier, and now of Gisborne, was a passenger on the south-bound mail train this morning en route to Stow-on-the-Wold, England. Mrs N. Carter and her son, Frank, of Beatty street, Hastings, left by the mail train this morning for Wellington, en route for England. » * « Mrs A. E. Williams, and Miss Sheila Williams, of Napier, were passengers by the mail train this morning for Wellington, where they will embark on the Rangitiki for London. » » • Mr and Mrs G. D. Beatson left by the mail train this morning for Wellington on a visit. • • • Mr and Mrs T. H. Lowry, of Okawa, left Hastings this morning by the mail train on a visit to Wellington.
