Aeroplanes for Australia SPEED OF 180 MILES AN HOUR (Received 14, 1.30 p.m.) LONDON, March 13. It is understood that 18 Hawker Demon aeroplanes have been purchased for Australia; also, the right has been secured to manufacture them in Australia. They will be known as Australian Demons, and will be capable of meeting Australian conditions with heavy loads. The machines have a speed of from 175 to 180 miles an hour, and a comfortable cruising speed of 150 miles an hour.
