Young Man Admits Offence COMMITTED FOR SENTENCE By Telegraph—Press Association ROTORUA, March 14. Pleading guilty to a charge of failing to account for the sum of £104'16/7, the property of a Government department, a young man wag committed for sentence at the Supreme Court at Auckland by Justices in the Rotorua Court this morning. On the application of counsel an order was made for suppression of the accused’s name, and bail was granted in his own recognizance and two sureties of £5O. In evidence the officer in. charge of the department stated that the accused was a good officer at his particular work, but had been reprimanded tor slackness in his bookkeeping methods, which might have accounted for tho loss of the money. On the deficiency being discovered tho accused admitted tho offence. Detective White produced a statement by the accused admitting mis appropriation of cash, and said that enquiries made showed the accused to be considered of good character in the town.
