The attendance is large and the weather perfect for the first day of the Te Aroha Jockey Club’s annual meeting. The track is fast. Results:— Hurdles, of £125; 1} mile —2-2 Brown Abbey (9.0) I, 4-4 Crunchen (10.9) 2, 10-10 Maunga King (9.0) 3. Scr.: Chief Line. Won by a head, three lengths between second and third. Time, 2.43. Waiton Handicap, of £l5O, 6 furlongs —6-6 Solomon (7.1) 1, 2-3 Bellkyrian (8.3) 2, 5-5 Bonny Gay (7.4), 3. Won by a head, length and a-half between second and third. Time, 1.13 2-5. Ser.: King Mestor, Union, Huskey. NEW BRIGHTON TROTS Outsider Wins Easily (By Tele; raph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Feb. 24 The New Brighton trots are being held in fine weather to-day before a large attendance. The course is in good order Results: — Improvers’ Handicap.—l 3 Mother’s Boy 1, 9 Royal Parrish 2, 4 Prince Harvester 3. Scr.: Bingen Lin. Won by four lengths. Time, 3.39 3-5.
