ORCHARD COMPETITION
Seven Years Contest AWARDING OF THE. CUPS The series of orchard competitions conducted during the last few years under the auspices of the Hawke’s Bay A. and P. Society was brought to a conclusion with the 1933 competition recently judged and arvarded to Mr. D. S. Davis, of Twyford, who wil hold the cup for the ensuing year. The terms of the competition pro vided that at the end of seven years the grower who had secured the most wins would be the ultimate owner of the cup. (Messrs. F. A. W. Frost and J. I’. Boyle, having each won twice ,it was decided that the grower who had, during this series, obtained the greater number of points, be declared the winner. This has proved to be Mr. Frost, who scored 5611 points, ns against Mr. Boyle’s 5521. An analysis of the individual points scored is shown below:—
At its meeting last evening, the com mittee of the Hawke’s Bay Fruitgrowers’ Association extended very hearty congratulations to Mr. Frost for the wonderful fight he had put up in the competition, and congratulated Mr. Boyle also for the very high standard he had attained.
