MASTERTON RAM FAIR

Disappointing Prices

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) MASTERTON, Feb. 24

A patchy sale resulted for stud and flock Southdown rams offered at the Ram Fair yesterday. With the exception of a few high-class animals from breeders of known ability, values generally were disappointing and realisations were below those at the Feilding and Hawke’s Bay fairs. Values for flock rams ranged from 2 to 15 guineas, the latter being obtained by H. J. Andrew, a well-known South Island breeder. The top price for studs was 60 guineas, obtained by H. Barrell and Sons. Brices ranged from 13 to 60 guineas.
