Mr. H. Valintine, ehief accountant of the New Zealand Railways, was yesterday elected president of the New Zealand Society of Accountants.— Press Association.
Mr and Mrs Oswald Nelson, of Hastings, have been staying in Woodville for the races ami have been the guests of Mr and Mrs W. 11. Nelson. Laureston. Woodville.
Mr D. Nelson and Miss Dora Nelson, of Hastings, have returned to Hastings from a visit to Masterton.
Mr and Mr s G. Smith, of Midhurst, Taranaki, who have Deen visiting their daughter, Mrs J. Cooper, of Taradale. returned home yesterday.
