Ship’s Company Praised

The Governor-General to-day visited the sloop Veronica, which sails to-mor-row for England. He inspected a parade, shook hands with the officers, spent a considerable time chatting with the men, and finally delivered an address in which he praised the standard of conduct of the ship’s complement while on the New Zealand station, and referred especially to the ship's fine service at Napier after the earthquake.
