MONEY LENDERS’ ACT
Registration Regulations (Bj Telegraph-Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Feb. 23. Tho money lenders’ regulation! under the Act of last scssiou of Parliament were gazetted last night. Provision is made for keeping a register of money lenders by clerks of tha Magistrates’ Courts. Applications for registration must be accompanied by testimonials signed by not fewer than five reputable persona as to (a) the good character of the money lender, partners in money-lend-ing firm or persons responsible for the management of a money-lending society or corporate body, (b) the fituesa of these persons to hold a license. Provision is made for the lodgment of objections to the granting or renewing of licenses on grounds set .out; in the Act.
