(6) H. K. Brainsby (Auckland) establishing a new record in the hop, step and. jump championship. (7) I. Driscoll (Hawke’s Bay-Poverty Bay) winning the one mile walk championship. (3) Finish of the Marathon, E. C. Brown (Otago) passing the post after leading throughout. (9) P. J. Hackett (Auckland) in the high jump event, which he won. (10) J. B. MacFarlane (left) and W. J. Fitzsimmons. Centerbury athletes who finished first and second respectively in the 100 yards championship. (11) Competitors taking a jump in the 80 yards women’s hurdles championship. (12) Mr. R. W. McVilly, president of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association, presenting the J. E. Lovelock Challenge Cup to L. C. McLachlan, winner of the mile race.
