SHIPS' MEDICAL INSPECTION

Examination at Sea Planned

By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, Feb. 21

An experiment will bo made by the Health Department with a new sjstein of medical inspections on inter-colouial ships carrying their own medical officers. Instead of inspections being conducted by the port health officers on the vessel's arrival at New Zealand ports, the passengers will be examined during tho voyage towards the Dominion, and if passed with a clear bill of health will be allowed to land without further inspection. Should the results of the trial be satisfactory, this practice will probably be extended tq overseas vessels.
