WEDDING
WILLIAMS—PLUMMER. All Saints’ Church, Tokomaru Bay, was the scene of a pretty wedding ceremony on Wednesday, when Cynthiu June, daughter' of Captain and Mrs. S. J. Plummer, of Liautanoa, Tokomaru Bay, was married to Herbert Meyrick Williams, son of the Rt. Rev. 11. W. Williams, Bishop of Waiapu, and Airs. Williams, of “Bishopscourt," Napier. Jho church was decorated beautifully with pink and blue hydrangeas, entwined with pink rambler roses, and tho ceremony was conducted by the Bishop of Wuiapu, assisted by tho Rev. Air. Anderson.
The oride was given away by her father, and presented a charming picture in a frock of cream lace over cream satin, fashioned with ft cowl neck, a full skirt, and tho veil was of Limerick lace, beautifully draped. The bride bouquet was of white carnations, with relieving touches of pale pink , Alisses Elizabeth Plummer and Sally Cotterill attended the bride and were gowned alike in blue checked organdie, the skirts being full and flared, and tho bodices having the necks cut square, and having three frills running from the front over the shoulders to the piquant V-neck at tho back. Ribbon of a slightly darker blue than the shade in tho Crocking fell from the shoulders of the bridesmaids, and knotted at the waist level, thence coming round to tho front in the form of a sash, with a bow at the back. The bouquets ware in shades of pink.
Messrs Michael Connell and Peter Plummer attended tho bridegroom, in tho respective roles of best man and groomsman.
After the ceremony a reception was held at the residence of the bride’s parents, the rooms being decorated with pink and blue hydrangea and cut flowers. Mrs, Plummer received the guests in navy blue georgette, trimmed with beijj;e, and worn with a navy hat, the hostess also carrying a handsome bouquet of mauve arid pink sweet peas.
Airs. H. W. Williams was tastefully gowned in navy blue and white, cut on fashionable lines, and worn with a small hat of toning shades. Aliss Whitelaw, of Auckland, an aunt of tho brido, wore a brown and white ensemble, with a brown Bangkok straw hat.
The number of guests was small, the wedding being quiet on account of Airs. Plummer’s recent recovery from a serious illness, but those present took occasion to compliment Captain and Airs. Plummer upon the day being also tho twenty-fifth anniversary of their wedding. Many good wishes for the future happiness of the bridal pair and their respective parents were expressed during the reception, and the bride was especially complimented upon tho guard of honour accorded her at the church doors by members of the Tokomaru Bay Girl Guides’ company, of which she is an officer. Departing later for the honeymoon, Airs. 11. Al. Williams wore a pink linen ensemble, the shading extending to her hat, bag and gloves, and the whole completing a dainty outfit.
