Employee of Department (By Telegraph—Press Association.l GISBORNE, Thursday. I Yesterday at Ruatoria, Detective Me- 1 Leod arrested Henare Poananga, who i later appeared in Court on a charge that on or about June 13, at Ruatoria, being a clerk in the employ of the Native Land Department, he stele £6 3/6, the property of the department. On the application of the detective • the accused was remanded by consent • till January 17, the detective indicating I that further inquiries wore necessary. | Bail was fixed in £lOO with one .surety i of £lOO.
