NAPIER MARDI GRAS
McLEAN PARK, BOXING DAY. Arrangements are now well in hand for the holding of the annual Mardi Gras, commencing on Boxing Day, Tuesday, The first item of the programme is the baby parade at 1.30 p.m., to be followed by the children’s procession, athletic and cycling events, wrestling contests, and novelty items. Sideshow men have already arrived in Napier, and a good assortment of entertainments and games of all descriptions will be presented at the park. Athletes, wrestlers and all competitors arc advised that there is no free admission. Everyone must pay to enter the park. Soft drinks, ice creams, and afternoon tea will be procurable from the various stulls. Admission charges Ou Boxing Day arc I/- for adults, which will admit to both afternoon and evening sessions, children tid for the same privilege. On Thursday, 28th instant, a wonderful fireworks display will be provided, and on Saturday. 30th instant, the New Year’s Eve celebration will be held. On Wednesday and Thursday nights there will be free admission to the park.
