GRADING OF PIGS

ENFORCEMENT OF REGULATIONS STRONG REPRESENTATIONS. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) PALMERSTON N., Dec, 23. It is likely that strong representations will be made to the Government in the near future to have enforced the already gazetted regulations providing for the grading of pigs under the supervision of Government officers. At a meeting of the Manawatu-Oroua branch of the New Zealand Pig-breed-ers' Association representatives of curers’ interests were present and a full and frank discussion oi the whole question of grading took place. A resolution was passed as a result of which it is hoped that far-rcaching modifications of the present lax enforcement of the regulations will shortly be brought about. The move is the outcome of widespread discontent that has been prevalent among farmers in Manawatu at the grading their stock revived.
