• Execution Carried Out CALCUTTA, December 19. Abdu] Khaliq and Mahmood, the Afghan King’s assassins, were executed on Monday, first being publicly bayonet ted and then hanged. Abdul Khaliq and three others, Mahmood, Abdullah and Ishaq, were tried at Kabul for the assassination of King Nadir. Khaliq and Mahmood were sentenced to death after the police had prevented an infuriated crowd from lynching the prisoners. The mob subsequently demanded the execution of all four, but Khaliq and Mahmood only were ordered to be executed.
