If evidence were wanting of the thorough “solidarity” of the Labour Party in the House of Representatives it is to be found in their “solid” support of Mr Barnard in connection with the Napier Harbour Loan Bill. Of the 29 votes cast in favour of retention of the “bare majority” clause no less than 19 were from Labour members, while not one from that party is to bo found on the other side.
