Annual North Island Meeting NEW ZEALAND CLUB’S DECISION By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, Dec. 1. The constitution of a separate department of civil aviation was advocated by a deputation from the New Zealand Aero Club to the Prime Minister (the lit. Hon. G. W. Forbes) and tho Minister of Defence (the Hon. J. G. Cobbs) to-night. The deputation also sought an increase in the amount of the present subsidy. The Ministers promised consideration.
At the annual meeting of the club the official pageant for the North Island was allocated to the Hawke’s Bay club, and the South Island is to be offered to the new West Coast club.
On the grounds of expense the meeting decided not to proceed with the scheme to instal a system of shortwave communication between clubs.
