CHURCH SERVICES

At St. Matthew’s Church to-morrow there will bo celebrations of the Holy Communion at 7 a.in. and at 8 a.m., also at Mahora School at 7.30 a.in., and at St. Barnabas, Parkvale, at 11 a.m. Special St. Audrewstide intercessions for foreign missions will be used at all services and the collections will be given to the Maori Mission by order of Synod. An afternoon service will bo held at 2 p.m. at Twyford School. Holy Baptisms at St. Matthew’s at 3 p.m. and the usual first in the month evening service at 7 p.m. for which service sheets are provided. An opportunity will bo given after service for the congregation to meet one another socially in the Parish Hall at a cup of tea.

“Samples of the Power of the Gospel of the Grace of God” is the title of tho evening address in the Hastings Bap tist Church, Karamu road, to-morrow. The Communion service will be held in the morning, and the subject for meditation will be “The sin that doth so easily beset us.” The preacher at both services will be the Rev. E. Nicholls. There will be anthems by the choir and Miss Sowe.rshy will sing a solo in the evening service. A combined BibleClass rally will be held in the afternoon, commencing at 3 p.m. The speaker will be Captain Squires, of the Church Army. All young people are urged to attend.

“Spiritualism—is it false or true?” will bo the subject of the Rev. R. B Gosnell’s address on Sunday evening in the Hastings Methodist Church. The anthem will be “The Radiant Morn.” The Rev. D. Alley, of the Napier Circuit will be the preacher at the morning service, the anthem being “King of Kings.” The Hospital service will be at 6 o’clock, and there is to be a special rally at 3 o’clock of the Y.W. Bible Classes to meet the organising secretary, Miss D. Sheat.

The services in Havelock North Presbyterian Church will be conducted by the Rev. R. Waugh, morning and evening at Havelock and in the afternoon at Poukawa. To-morrow is Communion Sunday in St. Andrew’s Church, the main Communion service being held in the morning at 11 o’clock and a supplementary service at the close of the regular evening service. Retiring offertories at nil services for the Benevolent Fund. The evening service will be relayed to St. John’s Hall at Mahora as usual. The subject of the address to be given in the United Hall on Sunday night will be. “The Salvation of Mankind onlv through the fulfilment of the Coveimi* made to Abraham and David.’* ’ The evening service at the Stortford Lodge Undenominational Mission Hall will be conducted by Mr. Young at 7 o’clock. A solo will be rendered by Miss Clark. A hearty welcome is given to all. Tn the Gospel Hall. Karamu road, Hastings, on Lord’s Day afternoon at 2.30 and in the evening at 7 o’clock Mr. F. Hunter will be the speaker. Also at. 7.30 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday he will give special addresses of interest and importance to Christians who are specially invited.
