JAPANESE WITHDRAWAL
From Demilitarised Zone STILL CONTROL GREAT WALL (Received 4, 10.30 a.m.) PEKING, Nov. 3. The Japanese have begun a general withdrawal from the demilitarised zone. A few days hence not a single soldier will remain, releasing a large number for service elsewhere. The Japanese, however, will continue to control the Great Wall, but allowing Chinese artillery to proceed to Funing, where bandits operating have been given a last chance to surrender.
