Commenting upon the dairy produce marketing scheme detailed on page nine of this issue, Mr D. G. Begley, chairman of directors of the Heretaunga Dairy Co., said that it contained no factors that would make its application to Hawke's Bay conditions different from its application to other districts. At least one member of Parliament, said Mr Begley, had striven to creati the impression that the scheme was really an attempt to re-establish, al least in some measure, the controlling powers that were formerly exercised by the Dairy Control Board. Such an assertion was contrary to fact; that scheme did not come from the producers at all, but from the importers of our dairy produce.
