COMPETITION FOR WOOL
Further Hardening in Melbourne (Received 3, 10.55 a.m.) MELBOURNE, Nov. 2. The wool sales showed a further hardening tendency in prices, and competition was exceptionally keen. The come-back crossbred section was practically all taken by Japan at prices equal to the highest point of ths season. Approximately 96 per cent, of the 8228 bales offered was sold. The best price of the day was 23d a lb. for Merino.

Prices Likely to Remain
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Nov. 3. Mr Frank B. Clark, of Christchurch, who arrived at Auckland by the Monterey to-day, expressed the opinion that wool prices were likely to remain up, but the New Zealand grower must pay more attention to classing and skirting. He found the general complaint to be the lack of attention to these points.
