ABERDEEN ANGUS BULL SALE
MR HAMISH ARMSTRONG'S OFFERING ANNUAL SALE AKITIO ABERDEEN ANGUS TWO-YEAR-OLD BULLS. The 17th annual sale of Aberdeen Angus bulls was held on account ot Mr Hamish Armstrong, Akitio. The offering came forward iu excellent order, attracting at attendance ot buyers, from all parts of the Manawatu, Taranaki, Wairarapa, Rangitikei and Hawke’s Bay districts. Competition was particularly keen throughout. An assisting feature of the sale was due to the fact that the champion and highest priced bull, which realised 150 gns. at the previous day’s sale held by the Associated Aberdeen Angus Breeders, was sired by Acute of Akitio, and purchased at Air Armstrong’s annual sale three years ago. Another pleasing feature df the sale was the free competition by farmers who have bought Akitio bulls for many years past. Appointments for the conduct of the sale were well arranged by Mr L. Logan. Timber Bay, on whose property the sale was held. The auctioneers in conjunction were the N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., and Williams and Kettle, Ltd., and the top price realised was 50 gns.
