MEAT WORKERS’ STRIKE
CONFERENCE NOT YET HELD. MELBOURNE. October 15. The meat employers so far have not granted the requests of the Trades Hall disputes committee for a conference with a view to settlement of the strike. It is understood that the employers are determined to give continuity of employment to volunteers, which is believed to be the stumbling block to the peace negotiations.
