H.B. ASSOCIATION MEETING. TEAM FOR CHAMPIONSHIPS SELECTED The Hawke’s Bay Wrestling Association has decided to send two amateurs to the New Zealand amateur championships, to be held in Wellington this week. The representatives will be Kent in the light-heavyweight class and J. Morley in the middleweight division. Mr C. 0. Tong will be manager of the team. At its last meeting the association decided to arrange for a social evening at which the amateur championship cups and other medals will be presented to the various winners. In view of the early departure of the overseas wrestlers, it, was decided that the season would be declared closed and that the association would not negotiate for further matches this year. A trophy, anonymously donated for the amateur showing the greatest promise on his first appearance in the ring was awarded to Webby, and a medal donated by Messrs Styles and Styles for the most improved amateur who commenced this year, was awarded to Carberry. The chairman (Mr S. J. McKee) Jexpressed his thanks to the committee for

the helpful co-operation extended to him throughout the season, and mentioned that the Hawke’s Bay Association had established itself as one of the most active associations in New Zealand. For the number of matches arranged its performance had been bettered only by three major associations, and the season generally had been an outstanding success.
