RELEASE ON CERTAIN CONDITIONS.

(Received 19, 11.30 a.m.) DELHI, Aug. 18.

The Government is prepared to release Gandhi provided he undertakes no part in civil disobedience or incitement to disobedience.

Bombay reports state that after 48 hours without food Gandhi is weakening. He is remaining in bed in an unlocked cell in the European quarter of the prison, where he is permitted to receive certain workers connected with the “untouchables” campaign.
