NEWS AND NOTES. (Special Representative.) At yesterday’s meeting of the Central Hawke's Bay Electric Power Board the chairman, Mr A. C. Russell, made feeling reference to the loss sustained by a board member. Mr A. W. S. Longley, in the recent death of his father, Mr Arthur Longley, at Wornbell, Yorkshire, England. A resolution of sympathy and condolence was caried in silence. The late Mr Longley had been engaged in the British Civil Service for over 40 years and had taken part in various public activities.

At yesterday’s meeting of the Central Hawke’s Bay Power Board accounts passed for payment were: Loan account, £29 4s 4d; fund account, £1687 5s Bd, the latter including interest on the £40,000 loan.
