THE N.Z. LEGION.
(To the Editor.) Sir, —Perhaps the N.Z. Legion is neither so dangerous nor so futile as some people think. I take it that it wishes to organise against the base depressions and shrewd suspicions that infest so-called civilisation. It might describe itself (indirectly) by renamitself: “The Parish Pump League (anti) Policy, To elect Mr WorldlyWiseman (I don’t think) Slogan: The Lord helps those who help themselves —bv grabbing all they can (sez you!)”
Meanwhile, the various Pacts and Conferences, in gas masks, with night bombers and tanks in shining armour painted mud-colour tethered handy, might join in a Mount Everest chorus: How can we attain To the inspiration Of being (to remain) Quite friendly and sane A vast elevation! —I am, etc., R.H.F. Havelock North, 20/5/33.
