NELSON APPLE EXPORTS

LAST SHIPMENT FORWARDED. 724,426 CASES FOR SEASON. By Telegraph—Press Association. NELSON, May 12. The last shipment of fruit to the United Kingdom was forwarded yesterday. The total for the season was 724,426 cases, against 991,729 last year. The drop was due to this being an “off” season in the orchards. Mr J. H. Brunt, shipping supervisee, anticipates that with suitable climatic conditions, next year’s crop, in an “on” year, should exceed the present record. Delicious and Statesman cropped particularly well. The falling off is due mainly to light cropping by Stunners. Pear exports rose from 39,000 to 45,960 cases. PRICES IN HAMBURG. (Received 16, 10.45 a.m.) HAMBURG, May 15. Apples arc in active demand. The Port Gisborne’s New Zealand apples sold at the following prices:—Cleopatras 9s 10d to 13s sd, Dunns 8s fid to 11s 4d, Jonathans 7s 5d to 12s 9d, Delicious 7s 5d to 9s fid, London 7s 5d to 9s Hid, Wolseleys (many baefy pitted) 5s lid to 2d.
