SHERENDEN

CRICKET WITH FLAXMERE. A very pleasant day’s cricket was enjoyed by the Flaxmere and Sherenden clubs, the latter team proving too good for Flaxmere. Sherenden batted first, compiling the large score of 303. The main scorers were P. Bigg (107 not out) and F. Chapman (87). Flaxmere then went in to bat and failed badly, making 38 in the first innings and 85 in the second. The best trundlers for Flaxmere were Beuth. Arthur, and Murphy; for Sherenden Tombleson, Bigg, Chapman and Marchant. A very enjoyable afternoon tea was provided by the ladies and was greatly appreciated by all.
