POWER FAILURE
A DEFECTIVE MOTOR. CURRENT OFF FOIL AN HOUR. Owing to a defective motor causing a short circuit, the power supply in a section of the Hastings borough was cut off this morning for an hour from ten o’clock. The area affected was that enclosed by Willow Park road, Heretaunga, Russell and Victoria streets. The authorities have not located the actual motor that was defective, but are making investigations. The difficulty at the power-house was that the awner of the motor apparently did not locate his trouble and through his motor “shorting” the peak loading was increased to such an extent that the switch at the power-house kept flying out.
