FRUIT EXPORT TRADE
N.z. SHIPMENTS IN LONDON THE RANGE OF PRICES. The Department of Agriculture hw received the following cablegram, dated April 13, from the High Commissioner for New Zealand, London:— Fruit.—Otira consignment all very mature, possibly owing to faulty carriage. Cox’s Orange affected with bitterpit. All parcels show waste up to 50 per cent., and many much worse. Immediate sales were essential, and shipment was practically cleared, but already there have been many rejections and reclamations. Initial sales: • Cox’s Orange (average), 10/8. Dunn, 9/-. Jonathans, 12/-. London Pippins, 9/-. Mobb’s Royal, 7/6. I Ballarats, 9/6. Lord Wolslcy, 8/9. | Port Wellington consignment sales to date:— Cox’s Orange, 6/6 to 18/- (average of sales to date, 14/7). Dunn’s, 8/- to 10/6 (average of sales to date, 9/-). Worcester Pcarmains, 7/- to 18/S (average of sales to date, 10/-). Shoreland Queen, 8/- to 9/6 (average of sales to date, 9/3). Rcinctte du Canada, 8/3 to 8/V (average of sales to date, 8/6). Lord Wolseloys, 7/- to 8/0 (averagv of sales to date, 7/8). Ballarats, 8/6 to 10/8 (average of sales to date, 9/-). Akaroa consignment! Only taw i landed, but indications are that this , shipment is in a better condition.
