A “WHITE” TEA

FOR AIISS SAUNDERS. On Thursday last Miss Jessica Saunders was again the guest of honour at a delightful “white" party, given for her by Airs Romaine Wright and Miss Joan Landels at Airs Wright’s home in Roberts street. The drawing-room looked very pretty with bowls of rose pink dahlias and autumn tinted guelder rose leaves, ami the dining-room, where tea was served, was decorated with flame antirrhinums toning beautifully with the room. A very bright competition—making up a telegram from the letters in the name of the bride-to-be and her fiance—was thoroughly enjoyed, and finally Miss Enid Cotterill and Miss Jessica Saunders tied as winners, the former receiving a pretty gift after drawing lor the prize. All kinds of dainty articles were received by Aliss Saunders—crystal, table mats, china, tray cloths and other "white” presents. Mrs Wright wore a pretty frock of pastel blue crepe-de-chine with touches of cerise colour; Miss Joan Landels wore an ocean-blue crepe-de-chine frock and becoming hat of the same shade; Miss Jessica Saunders looked very sweet in leaf green crepe-de-chine patterned in bronze, with Puritan collar and cuffs and a large hat of brown shiny straw with a soft ribbon bow at the side. Mrs Wright’s sister, Miss Jackson, and Airs Saunders and Aliss Mary Saunders were present, also Airs Tripe, Mrs Gorq, Airs Landels, Airs AV. R. Stead, Airs A. Stead, Mrs Masterson, Mrs Hindmarsh; Misses B. Landels, S. Afurray, E. Cotterill, Fannin (2), Brodie (2), L. Candy, A. Rochfort, R. Small, P. Holderness, N. Van Asch, and P. Hoadley.
